why is it??? |
that most dead fans cant and/or dont listen to a song or show in the moment. dissecting and analyzing each note while comparing it to another , usually more familiar, version.
letting the song or show pass them by...
fantasizing what they think Jerry was thinking, or what Bob or Phil was trying to say????
or not !!

not many other bands were fortunate enough to have a solid fan base as the dead and honestly i think some people are hyper-critical because we can be, we got spoiled with years of solid music

I don't understand the phenomena. The "instructions" read, "If you get confused listen to the music play". It says "listen", not tear it down, examine the minutiae under a critical microscope and then reassemble to suit yourself. It just says "listen". It's really not that difficult. And by following the instructions, the enjoyment level is "grately" enhanced.

when I saw the GD in 74 I remember standing next to a 300lb Biker who yelled "Jerry!Jerry!" almost all night, at one point he was doing while a song was being played and god bless her a tiny chick punched him in the side (like a mosquito on an elephant) say shut the fuck up..
another thing that got to me was people with no rhythm sometimes dozens all clapping at the wrong time...
this must have been difficult for the musicians,
it's sometimes funny hearing time shifts and the clappers petering out..
but the GD were great at what they did... and the GD audience were the best group of people I've ever been part of...wonderful, happy and high

I listen to songs and shows "in the moment." I dissect and analyze after I listen, and then might listen again whilst dissecting/analyzing further. You've brought this exact point up before. Why are you bringing it up again?

Rob's prognosis is indeed pretty accurate. And funnily enough, RB went ahead and proved the accuracy of that prognosis with his response to Rob, probably not even realizing he had done so. Actually I believe it's more of diagnosis then a prognosis, but I think I'll take heed to Rob's words, and cease fueling such "imbecilic utterances and ill-tempered harangues."

Since you asked, Rich, no. And in fact, I don't think that you and I have EVER had a "bad" exchange (ie, a "forum fight" if you will). And, early on (as in yrs ago), I thought you more or less were a bit paranoid, but largely stuck to ID'ing the trolls and giving them a hard time.
So, to be clear, I have never had a "personal" issue with ya (other than the Boston area affinities; har, har--I wish the celts had beat the heat too! Gotta keep LA's streak alive, eh?).
But, now it seems too extreme--I happen to "know" Jacky Hughes, and TToh9, and a few others, and yet the attacks continue (I will admit they now respond to your attacks, but who wouldn't?).
That's my read, and it's not worth much, but yeah, I'd say if you left Jacky alone, Tide alone, Rob alone, that no one would be the worse for it...no biggie, though, they can take care of themselves.
